The overarching goal was a requirement to gain increased employee commitment, engagement and performance to ensure achievement of the challenging business goals.
The organisation needed its management team to take ownership of the significant cultural change required to drive the business forward, taking its employees with it. The changes required each employee to adopt behaviours focused on collaborative working, creativity and innovation, high customer focus and stretch performance. The organisation recognised that to achieve this objective their management team needed to role model the desired behaviours through a coaching style.
A solution was designed based initially on increasing the level of the management team's self-awareness. This was through 360 feedback, given via a coaching session, aimed at identifying the key areas of personal leadership strengths and development needs. This prepared the management team for a leadership development programme which focused on providing a range of leadership tools and techniques around performance leadership, team motivation, coaching and mentoring.
The outcomes were measured in two primary ways firstly, via follow-up 360 feed back to evaluate the level of behavioural change and secondly, via a 60 day challenge activity undertaken by each participating manager and aimed at achieving a tangible improvement in performance. Both qualitative and quantitative outcomes were achieved across the management team.
